Hello and Welcome to LAFA's Website!

LAFA is a nonprofit school of theatrical movement focusing on the craft of physical communication, and we are dedicated to developing and teaching skills which celebrate the body in motion, and incorporating those skills in performance.

PERFORMERS- Our specialty is training actors in the arts of stage combat and physical comedy. Our primary focus is developing your complete confidence in physical skills; from minute and subtle to grand and audacious. Bearing this in mind, our training incorporates all aspects of the actor's toolkit, including characterization, text analysis, and body awareness, allowing you to make informed and safe choices.

DIRECTOR & PRODUCERS- Whether you need us to coordinate a massive battle scene or simply locate the right weapons and props, our goal is to provide the highest expertise to whatever degree you require, safely and efficiently. Your actor/ actress needs to be a Roman gladiator,an Amazonian archer, a Korean war marine, a state of the art swat team operator, or a futuristic space knight? We will match one or a team of our instructors to the task, and get the job done.

How can we do this for you? We teach classes, choreograph shows, provide private instruction, consult on films and television, direct live stunt shows, and more! And your instructors are all performers themselves, so they know full well what works and what doesn't in real-life situations. Our instructors have been involved in the following projects:
